1997 Gay And Lesbian Accomplishments Listing
Note: Many thanks to Mike Silverman
of Turn
Left for compiling this list and allowing us to share it.
1997 was a good year in the social, political and legal struggle for equal
rights. It seems that every day another company added domestic partner benefits,
another cultural milestone was passed, or another court ruled in our favor.
Considering that gays and lesbians are opposed by America's most powerful
special interest group, the radical right, it is heartening that we are making
such significant progress. Celebrate a great year and look forward to an even
better 1998! Justice is prevailing.
