Mystery Writers of America event honoring William Link at the Los Angeles Friars Club

Bob emceed when the Mystery Writers of America, Southern California chapter, honored writer William Link with its first ever "lifetime achievement award," the "Marlowe," at the Friars Club in Los Angeles. From left: Bob; chapter president Jan Burke; Bill, whose classic TV creations include "Columbo;" author Melodie Johnson Howe, one half of the Q&A session with the guest of honor; and, special guest William Windom, the long-term doctor on another classic Link series, "Murder She Wrote." (Photo by the multi-talented author, "Jeopardy" champ, and things like that, Nathan Walpow)
Bob shares a preview of The John Lennon Affair with Bill Windom during the MWA gala for Bill Link.
One of the all-time great record producers, Bones Howe, got a preview copy of The John Lennon Affair from Bob during the MWA salute, under the watchful eye of Francis Albert Sinatra, whose name pops up regularly in the novel. The Grammy-award winner, whose "production and sound by" trademark included classics such as "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In" and "Wedding Bell Blues" by the Fifth Dimension,  accompanied his author-wife, Melodie, who conducted the Bill Link Q&A. Bones and Bob were neighbors as well as pals in the "back then" days. (Another Nathan Walpow photo)
