Bob's
sixth appearance (in four books) on the marquee at BookStar in Studio
City, CA. How come six for four? One was for a writing clinic session in
the monthly program presented there by the SoCal chapter of the Mystery
Writers of America. The other was for last year's first scheduled date for
The John Lennon Affair--September 11--which, of course, was canceled in
the wake of tragic events. |
Bob
and (from left) BookStar mainstays Shelly and Blanche and former Barnes
& Noble/BookStar CRC Patty, who's now associated with the Getty
Museum. (Patty, among the first to ever set Bob for an in-store appearance
four years ago, dropped by to say hello.) |
Bob
with Robert McCracken (left), who oversees the archives and then some at
Paramount Pictures, and Philip E. Murphy, Paramount Senior Vice
President-Operations. (Longtime friends, they pop up in HOT PAINT
as--well, go look for yourself...) |
Two
friends for far longer than Robert and Phil--although they're obviously
much, much older than Bob: Aaron Cohen (center) and Evan Fisher. Aaron's a
business entrepreneur who's succeeded over the years in various fields.
Evan, an original member of the Four Preps singing group, who later toured
for years as a member of the hit making Diamonds, now helps manage the
famous, family owned Ice House comedy store in Pasadena, CA. |
Cynthia
Mitchell and her son, Sam, probably a familiar face to you from TV
commercials, were among those who came by BookStar for Bob's discussion
and Q&A session. |
