Connelly and Bob shared the same signing hour at the all-day bash at the
Mystery Book Store celebrating the shop's one year anniversary at the
Westwood location. That's managing partner Shelly McArthur trapped
between 'em...Mike and Bob have spent the last two years as members of
the board of directors of the Mystery Writers of America, Southern
California chapter. |
 Bob
took special pleasure in spotting the newly-released audio tape of Shame
the Devil by George P. Pelecanos. It's narrated by friend and former
store employee Richard J. Brewer, the silken tongued smoothie who should
be doing more work like this (and, in fact, is set to do just that).

 Another
of the many, many authors who turned out for the party was one more
fellow MWA SoCal board member, Taffy Cannon, who signed The Tumbleweed
Murders, which she completed following the death of Rebecca Rothenberg,
and her own Guns and Roses. |
